The neighbourhood of Shoreacres is characterized by quiet streets lined with trees, flanked by massive private lots, many of which contain sprawling, ranch-style bungalows from the 1950s and 1960s. There is a lot of history to discover in Shoreacres, like the Paletta Lakefront Park, which is Burlington’s oldest park and still home to the estate mansion that was built nearly a century ago by the daughter of the founding director of the Canadian Steel Company. Shoreacres is also home to one of the best elementary schools in Burlington, St. Raphael. Given its enticing housing options, lot sizes, natural beauty and prime location right on Lake Ontario, it’s easy to see why Shoreacres is also one of Burlington’s most expensive neighbourhoods.
